ONE FOR ALL Arts Education Fund exists because we believe every person deserves the opportunity to discover confidence, creativity, connection, and purpose.
We believe the arts are among the most powerful ways people learn who they are, what they are capable of, and how they can contribute to the world around them. Music, dance, theater, visual arts, and creative writing are not simply subjects to be studied, they are pathways to curiosity, resilience, empathy, collaboration, and lifelong growth.
That belief shapes everything we do.
Through educator development, student opportunities, community partnerships, scholarships, workshops, performances, and innovative arts initiatives, ONE FOR ALL expands access to meaningful creative experiences that inspire learning, strengthen communities, and awaken human possibility.
At its highest purpose, arts education is not about creating more artists. It is about helping people discover who they can become.
The arts are the method. Human possibility is the destination.
About the Founder

Patrick William Smith
Founder & President, ONE for ALL Arts Education Fund
A Message from Our Founder:
For more than fifty years, I have explored a single question:
What happens when people are given the opportunity to discover who they are – and who they might become?
That question has shaped every chapter of my life; as an educator, performing artist, mentor, martial artist, nonprofit founder, and lifelong advocate for the transformative power of the arts.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of witnessing something extraordinary. I’ve seen students who doubted themselves discover confidence. I’ve watched young people find belonging through creative expression. I’ve seen educators ignite possibilities in their students changing who they thought they were into imagining who they could become. Again and again, I have learned the same lesson:
The arts do far more than develop artists. They reveal human potential.
That realization became the foundation of ONE FOR ALL Arts Education Fund.
Although our work is expressed through music, dance, theater, visual arts, and creative writing, we are driven by something much larger than arts education alone. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to discover confidence, creativity, connection, purpose, and the possibilities that exist within them.
ONE FOR ALL exists to expand those opportunities.
We invest in educators because great teachers awaken possibility in others. We create opportunities for students because every life deserves the chance to flourish. We build partnerships among schools, artists, cultural organizations, businesses, and communities because human possibility grows stronger when people create together.
The name ONE FOR ALL reflects this belief.
ONE represents our shared humanity.
FOR ALL expresses our conviction that the opportunity to discover one’s creative voice, and ultimately one’s own potential, should never be limited by age, circumstance, ability, identity, culture, or economic background.
Throughout my career, I have been honored by organizations including Yale University School of Music, the Greater New Haven arts community, and The Recording Academy. I value these recognitions not as personal achievements, but as affirmations of a lifelong mission to create opportunities for others. Whether collaborating with the GRAMMY Museum, serving as a member of The Recording Academy, or developing initiatives such as The Creators’ Classroom – Student Spark, my purpose has remained the same: to build bridges between education, the professional arts community, and the limitless possibilities within every learner.
People often ask whether the goal of arts education is to create more musicians, dancers, actors, writers, or visual artists.
I believe the answer is much deeper.
At its highest purpose, the arts help people discover who they are, what they are capable of becoming, and how they can contribute to the lives of others.
That is why ONE FOR ALL exists.
The arts are our method. Human possibility is the destination.
